Models and tools
Our primary platform is IMPLAN. The team also works with REMI, RIMS II, Lightcast, Chmura and Eora Global multi-regional input-output (MRIO) tables, and uses Stata, R and GIS for data work and mapping. We use multi-regional models when a study spans more than one geography, so that commuting and trade between regions are captured.
Fees and timelines
Every engagement is quoted as a fixed fee. Typical ranges from our practice:
| Fee range | Typical scope |
|---|---|
| $3,000 to $8,000 | A targeted attendee survey or a small fiscal impact memo for a single-county project with existing data |
| $8,000 to $25,000 | A standard single-organization study (one campus, facility or festival) with a designed report and basic primary research |
| $25,000 to $75,000 | A multi-site, multi-region or methodologically complex study with substantial primary research |
| $75,000 to $150,000+ | Statewide system studies, large multi-stakeholder engagements, or custom modeling with executive presentation |
Most studies take 6 to 12 weeks from kickoff, depending on data availability. Expedited studies can be delivered in one to two weeks. Proposals with scope, timeline and fee are sent within 48 hours of an inquiry. The cost guide explains what drives each range.

Independence
We do not accept sponsored research and do not publish work in which we have a financial interest. Every study names its authors and documents its model, inputs and geography in a methodology section, and we present and defend our results to boards, councils and the press.
